NCT Wish lately held a public fansign at Coex Mall on July 28, 2024. Fans complained after the occasion, claiming that safety guards had prevented them from watching on the sidelines.

Public fansigns often enable passersby or followers who didn’t win a slot to look at from the aspect, whereas those that gained slots can be seated in entrance of the stage.

I’m actually upset on the public fansign at Coex… I slept in, so I didn’t take into consideration going to have a looksee, however I went as a result of I had a reservation at Hai Di Lao that day. I went round 2pm, and noticed that nobody was standing on the fences by the aspect, so I finished and stood there. The safety guards got here to me instantly and informed me to go away. So I pretended to be a non-fan and requested, ‘what event is this? Why can’t I stand right here?’ They couldn’t say a factor as I questioned them, so i ended up being allowed to face there. When different followers copied me and came visiting, the guards instantly began appearing up. They’re so pleasant to non-fans, however act up towards followers who’re spending cash… I don’t know if this must be so.

A Red Velvet fan stepped in with a video of Irene standing up for the followers. Fans who had gained slots had not been allowed to take pictures of the ladies at a public fansign, whereas passersby and non-fans have been allowed to take action. Irene instantly spoke up and allowed the followers to take pictures.

Netizens sided with the followers, accusing SM Entertainment of “reverse discrimination.” While they need to be treating followers higher than non-fans, they appear to be doing the other.
