Ha Seung Ri has shared why she selected to star within the upcoming drama “My Lovely Boxer”!

“My Lovely Boxer” is a sports activities drama primarily based on the novel “My Lovely Boxer Lee Kwon Sook” by Choo Jong Nam, the winner of the second Kyobo Bookstore Story Contest. It tells the story of genius boxer Lee Kwon Sook (Kim So Hye) and cold-blooded agent Kim Tae Young (Lee Sang Yeob), who doesn’t really feel responsible about match-fixing for cash and the success of his athletes.

Ha Seung Ri performs the position of About Sports Agent Jung Soo Yeon, Kim Tae Young’s ex-girlfriend and rival. As a former skilled golfer, Jung Soo Yeon has a robust aggressive spirit and can put her life on the road for something.

On why she determined to seem in “My Lovely Boxer,” Ha Seung Ri defined, “I wanted to show the hard work and reality of many people who work behind the scenes to support the passion of athletes through the character of Soo Yeon.”

She added, “Through ‘My Lovely Boxer,’ many people will be exposed to the reality of boxing. Please look forward to the lovable Soo Yeon, who sincerely reaches out to the athletes in a harsh environment.”

Talking about her character Soo Yeon, Ha Seung Ri shared, “Soo Yeon is strong and warm, and she doesn’t hold grudges. She is very genuine when it comes to dealing with people, which is a lot like how I am in real life, so that it made it a bit easier for me to act. Soo Yeon’s ability to get along with everyone and the way her chemistry changes depending on the person she’s with are what make her such a compelling character.”

Ha Seung Ri additionally selected “fierce,” “growth,” and “chemistry” as key phrases to sum up “My Lovely Boxer.” Ha Seung Ri shared, “Every single character in the drama is alive and fierce. I think it’d be good to keep an eye on how they grow within their respective situations. I think it will be very relatable and comforting to see that even if you are clumsy, young, and insecure at first, you can still ultimately succeed in finding your true self.”

The actress concluded by commenting, “I am happy and excited to meet viewers soon through ‘My Lovely Boxer.’ I hope it will be a drama you can cry and laugh along with.”

“My Lovely Boxer” premieres on August 21 at 9:45 p.m. KST.
